  They were both speechless, so I pulled them along behind me and smiled at a guard that had been placed outside the door. He opened the door for us with a solemn nod, and I knew this ceremony wasn’t just for show; it was sacred, an oath between warriors to protect and defend the females they chose for their own.

  Around the room there were warriors I recognized and some I did not. I had trusted Maxim to know who Surnen and Trax would have chosen.

  Walking to the center of the room, I spoke slowly and clearly so every male would hear my claim.

  “I am Umiko Tanaka of Earth, and I claim the warriors Surnen and Trax as my own.”

  I wasn’t expecting an answer, but I got one anyway, from the entire group that stood around the edges of the room speaking in unison. “May the gods witness and protect you.”

  I dropped the cape, and my mates could hold back no longer. They were on me before I could even blink. They touched me. Kissed me. Fucked me. Claimed me.
